Skills that I have for the course

Team worker- Through my college course, I have worked in various teams where we have to communicate on a regular basis, delegate work and take on key roles. I also make sure that the needs of the group members are met and that their voices are heard so that everyone is happy and feels involved.
Communication- As a producer on previous college projects, I have had to contact contributors via E-mail and phone calls and explain who I am and what I would like to do. I have done this several times now which has made me more confident in my communication and I am capable of doing this now.
Organisational- I am adept with organisational skills as I can manage my time well, which allows me to meet my deadlines, and I can organise filming dates and gain important locations and contributors which is essential to our film projects.
Individual worker- As well as being a team worker, I am a confident individual worker as I am motivated, determined and always look for excellence in my work. I have become an adept individual worker through my evaluations and the comprehensive research that I have carried out, which includes primary, secondary, quantitative, qualitative and market research.
Creative- I believe that I am a creative person as I have always pitched my ideas to our college projects and I am able to develop on other concepts in order to create the best possible narratives for our film projects. I have also started to create my own short films in my spare time, although I have only worked on one so far and I would like to make more in the future

I am currently attending Weston College, starting in September 2017 and I will finish my course in July 2019. I am studying Level 3 Media production at college and in my first year, I achieved a distinction grade.

Previous Work experience

The Big Act, June 2016

Work experience at a musical performance school, where, on my first day, I sat in on an acting workshop with the students and I gave feedback to their performances.
I helped with the preparation of the school performances, where I would set up the props table, place out costumes for the actors and I went out to get a essential prop for the performance. I also helped with cleaning up after the performance had ended so that it was clean for the next day.
I also assisted in admin work by entering data into the spreadsheet of the company so that they had a record of this information.

Work experience with Weston College.
I was a camera operator where I would capture footage of the actors performance and I also followed the direction of the director if they wanted me to change my position and shot angle in order for the footage to look as good as possible.

Work experience with Weston College.
I helped set up the cameras, tripods and cables so that everything would be ready to film when the performances had started.
I was a camera operator where I would capture the performance of the students and follow the instructions of the director so that I could capture the correct footage.

Work experience with Weston College
I was a camera operator for the first half of the performance (as I switched with another camera operator after the interval) where I would capture medium wide shots of the whole performance and I would also capture medium shots of the drama students.

Work placement

I am undertaking my work placement at The Stable Creative Hub which is based in Weston and it is a 'hot desking' company where people from the creative tech industry come to work at their own pace.
We mainly carry out tasks that have been assigned to us by Sam (The Stable hub co-ordinator) which has included carrying out research into other 'hot desking' companies within Somerset, writing social media posts, help with setting up meetings and complete runner tasks such as re-stocking meetings rooms and going out to get items that are needed.
We are also currently working with members of The Stable to produce videos for them which includes a short promotional video for a learning platform and a vox pop video to see the publics knowledge of artificial intelligence. I am also working on a video and photography project with John about 'hot desking' at The Stable in order to further promote the company.

I am enjoying my time at my work placement and I am excited to work on the upcoming video projects.
